Historical Intergenerational Trauma Transmission Questionnaire (HITT-Q; 2025)
original version

Additionally: Section on historical events and losses
The questionnaire begins with a personalized section where respondents identify specific historical events that have affected their family—from genocides and wars to natural disasters and political repression.
This section allows us to identify specific patterns of trauma characteristic of different types of historical trauma.
Data on losses is particularly important for understanding the depth of traumatic experiences and their potential impact on subsequent generations.

Additionally: Post-traumatic stress screening
The methodology also includes two screening questions to identify signs of PTSD: one assesses the presence of intrusive experiences, the other assesses avoidance behavior.
Although these questions are not a diagnostic tool, they can identify respondents with possible PTSD symptoms who require additional clinical attention.
Screening is important for differentiating between transgenerational transmission of trauma and direct traumatization through secondary exposure.
