HITT-Q (Historical Intergenerational Trauma Transmission Questionnaire) is a questionnaire designed to assess intergenerational transmission of historical trauma. Originally developed by Vera Békés & Claire J. Starrs (2024) and validated in initial studies. This website provides the Ukrainian adaptation for clinical and research use
Ukraine has a unique history of multiple collective traumas that have accumulated over centuries: the Holodomors, World War II and the Holocaust on Ukrainian territory, Soviet repression, the Chernobyl disaster, and now a full-scale war with Russia. methodology and articles.
Since 2022, Ukrainian psychologists have been working in conditions of mass trauma among the population. According to WHO data, up to 46% of Ukrainians report mental health difficulties. A validated assessment tool is needed to study the mechanisms of intergenerational trauma transmission and develop programs to interrupt it in conditions of prolonged war.
